Usher/Front of House Job Description 

Usher is responsible for the seating and the safety of patrons in MVE and all performance venues. 

Front of House/Ushers are expected to offer the highest level of customer service possible to guests. 

Ushes must arrive ONE hour before show and stay 15 minutes after the show.  They will be able to watch the show from their assigned area however they must be actively monitoring the audience. 

All ushers must be at least 18 years old.  

Responsibilities:

• Politely directing and escorting patrons to their seats.
• Providing patrons with programs and other relevant materials.
• Checking assigned section for cleanliness.
• Visually sweep the theaters to check for potential safety issues and lost and found items.
• Be aware of and enforce appropriate house rules including NO VIDEOTAPPING or FLASH.   PHOTGRAPHY allowed.
• Remain at assigned post throughout the event.
• Must be aware of, and follow, the proper procedures for assisting patrons with disabilities.
• Attend pre-event Usher meeting/trainings.
• Other duties as directed.
• We ask for ushers to please wear business casual attire in combinations of black, white, and/or teal.
• All necessary training is provided by the front of house manager who also serves as the main point of contact at the show.
